Learn, Laugh, Live.
Welcome to the website of Comber and District U3A.
This home page has been temporarily adapted to keep everyone in touch with what is happening while Covid 19 restrictions apply. Several activities are proceeding in virtual format and, with increasing easements, there will be scope for some groups to meet in person – as long as they observe the government restrictions which are then current.“
If you take a look at the Third Age Trust compendium video linked to the June Newsletter, I am sure that you will be pleased to see that during the three months of lockdown, our members in Comber & District U3A have been able to participate- virtually – in almost all the activities detailed. So well done again to group leaders for ensuring that we kept in touch and were able to Learn, Laugh, Live!
But we need to keep looking forward and it is good that following certain easements, some groups- who can operate outdoors- are now planning to meet up physically while still, of course, observing the social distancing regulations. The Third Age Trust has now helpfully produced Covid related risk assessment checklists to help both group leaders and participants to consider participation in such activities – see Right Hand Side.
We know that many of you are missing meeting up at our monthly meetings and the committee will continue to meet regularly over the summer to consider ways that these and other activities can be resumed within guidelines, after the summer recess. We will, of course, keep you informed via this website. However if any of you have any ideas for taking things forward within the guidelines, please share them with the committee.
In the meantime, we hope that you all have a wonderful summer.
Please continue to keep in touch with each other and check out this website for further updates.
