Learn, Laugh, Live.
Welcome to the website of Comber and District U3A.
Almost all our activities are now running again, albeit in different formats. Many groups are now meeting virtually, while some have opted to meet in person in larger venues to facilitate social distancing. Remember that it is up to everyone to observe the Government guidelines.
Autumn sees the resumption of most groups and we will shortly resume monthly meetings
Clearly change has been necessary to help ensure everyone stays safe and observes all the Covid related restrictions. So some groups will, for the time being, meet virtually, while others will meet in larger venues and observe the capacity restrictions on those venues. Follow the website for details.
Group Leaders will be following the Participation Checklists, which are a mandatory U3A requirement ( see Right Hand Side), and all participants must consult these and consider their personal participation checklist before taking part in any face to face meeting. Please ensure that if you consider you have any of the Covid-19 symptoms you must not attend. Clearly everyone has a responsibility both for their own safety and that of their fellow members.
We are also delighted to welcome back our photography challenge which so many of you enjoyed during lockdown. We would welcome other groups’ proposals for challenges, which may be enjoyed by other members.
I am sure that you will join me in thanking our group leaders for their adaptability and enthusiasm in getting their groups up and running on your behalf. Enjoy your opportunities to meet and engage in whatever format and to:
LEARN LAUGH LIVE.
Please note that membership fees are overdue. Due to the exceptional circumstances this year, the committee has agreed that renewals will be accepted up to 30 October. Where fees are unpaid after that date membership will lapse. Renewal forms are available in the Membership Section.”

Comber & District U3A – Photography Challenge
The Joy of Autumn.
The ‘Joy of’ photography challenges were very successful in the early stages of the Covid-19 crisis producing some lovely photographs. As we approach an uncertain Autumn and Winter we plan to have a few more challenges to get you snapping.
To get started we will have ‘The Joy of Autumn’. The photographs should be taken during this period of isolation and sent to email@example.com .
The challenge is again open to all U3A members. The photographs will be posted on our U3A website and the best photographs will be awarded the highly sought after ‘Editors Pick’.
The closing date for ‘‘The Joy of Autumn’ challenge will be Saturday, 14th November 2020.
